This project complements the desktop examination of mine rehabilitation opportunities with practical on-ground trials in East Arnhem land on an ex-bauxite mine . The project will encompass trial plantings of Eucalyptus tetrodonta (Darwin stringybark) in monoculture and mixed species configurations with tailored soil amendments. Darwin stringybark is the dominant canopy species in northern Australian forests that are cleared for bauxite mining.
